THIS IS HOME is a collaborative documentary photography series profiling DC dwellers within the spaces they call home and the reasons they do so—whether it’s a human or pet, room or ritual.

DC is a transient city, but for a season at a time, people call it home. We’re curious to learn what makes a place ‘home’ for people and why, so we meet friends where they live to chat about what home means to them. And we make photographs of both the ordinary and extraordinary—all that make the people and place unique.
